Nothing like laying on the couch, fan on you, reading a book. :)

And it's a smutty, magical romance book even.

lol It was that or the bio of Margret Thatcher that I picked up at the public library. They still don't have my book in, "We are still trying to get it ship to us from another library." AKA- they are not going to get it as I am the only person asking for it.

:/

Dang me and my odd things.

While last weekend I was out of the state with family, I had looked forward to a lazy weekend. Housework is almost done, sheets in the wash with two more loads to follow... and.... I want to go out.

Out to some places to take pictures. Be it a old boarded up school, or garden. A creek, animals, anything.

But then I think of the heat outside, hearing my AC unit running still even tho it is on 75. The nice fan my sister gave me hitting my legs, keeping me cool as I sit here typing.

And I think of the week coming up of pack job, repair to a truck I have to deal with, load, 150 mile trip to unload and back... in the heat of over 100.

Hmmm...

What was I thinking? Lazy weekend is looking better. ;)

Might have to try a makeup look later, if the house doesn't get too hot.

Just keep the list of the places I found, want to go back to.

Subject: 70% rule and summer changes

Agents,Drivers & Independent TSP'S Against DPS

July 28, 2011

We are happy that the70% rule has been waived and the waiver will extend to 15 August at which point it will be examined again. The reexamination will of course be based on work load and resources available to handle the workload.Do not think that the waiver has anything to do with helping the warehousemen. It is for the benefit of the vanline TSP to freeup vehicles. I wish sddc would realize the 70% rule is a free lunch rule.We the warehousemen of the US store and perform warehouse handling without compensation when the 70% rule is invoked. When it comes to delivery on a 70% rule shipment we once again take it in the shorts as the saying goes. A colleague of mine for example was asked to deliver a shipment from his whse for which there was no sit . The shipment weighed 17000 lbs and it was from a major vanline the rate was $5.50 the total would have been $935.00. Though my colleague is of senior years he is still in possession of all his faculties. He told the van line where they could put their shipment in no uncertain terms. As my learned colleague said since the van line does not receive revenue from our storage they really do not care how low warehouse sit compensation is.He further said he mourned the day the NMSA closed its doors.

Wishing you all the best, Joel Summer

Wishing you all the best

17,000 lbs is a two day job, easy. And a two day job to load onto a truck, out of storage. 128 hours of labor, fuel. And taking into account the full replacement insurance... not worth it.

While the bigger companies can make $800.00 a day on a 6 to 7 hour local. Not me... but those in big towns do.

Ok- now that I have caught up with the work things, and waiting for the crew to get in, I am going to take a second to write out some stuff. And yes- it is 6:00 pm here, turning into a long day for all of us here.

Random...

Freaking hot.

Hate Ohio.

Rude people

Aunt blue eyes shined when she was awake Sat/ Sunday.

Cousins are strange.

Sister really really really hates getting up early. And I was thinking Birdy was bad. HUH!

Aunt has a lovely home, two cats that will be heart broken.

I love my car, I really really do.

Did I say I hate Ohio? Rude ass folks... and the way they lay out streets... sucks...SUCKS!

45 mins at a stand still with the I-75 bridge repair... love my car.

85 mph up, in the heat, smooth as silk.

Sitting in the heat with 109 on the temp outside..and still able to run the AC on low without over heating, unlike a few around me.

LOVE my car.

Back in time to go to Cat's Uncle visitation.

This weekend I am not doing jack shit.

Unless we have to go back to Ohio.

:(

I swear today the one estimate I had booked turned into three. "Oh.. you are a mover? Can you come look at our items? We own the building they are moving into? And the lady who owns the building we purchased needs moved too... let me call her, see if she found one.."

4 1/2 hour later- I got back to the office.

To work three hours on those estimates.

Let's hope I at least get one of them to pay for the fuel I used to drive to all three.

Got movie to watch tonight- 30 Day part 2. Couch, a drink, will be asleep half way into it but.. oh well.

Ok- done.

Ok- this is going to be short. I am home, got in about a hour ago. Got stuff to do, places to go.

Long night ahead.

Ohio, 12 hour total drive time, this weekend if plans stay as they are. They have given my Aunt two weeks, Mom wants to go up but is unable to do it. I am going in her place, to say goodbye.

I am not returning messages right now, might tonight if I can stay awake. Or Friday... sort of, got lots a work to catch up on.

Can't get hold of anyone so...

Time for me to hit the shower, funeral home calls. Then stop at Cat's for a visit, see what the plans are for her Uncle's funeral.

Yes- I see that is mispelled but right now... not giving a crap. Two days in the heat, a customer who pushed all the buttons, males, long trip, sucky hotel, no sleep for two nights is not making a happy Rat right now.

But life can be so gone in a second, seems like a bad day to bitch about being alive.

All I can say is... voice over? Singing lessons could not of taken her this far, I mean... she could not carry a tune before. Goes to show you spend some money, anyone can be a "Ehhh" singer. And extend that 15 mins of fame.

I have to confess- I watch the show on TV that is all about wedding dresses. You know the one- they go in, find that perfect dress and start crying. I have watched it enough to know some family and friends can be kind of bitchy about the whole thing. Then you take into account the budget that most go over, it is fun to watch. That and I get to see the dresses. :)

I just watched my first show about the bridesmaids. Same kind of show- just about picking the bridesmaid dresses. They all get together and the bride picks the dress... not. This one bride has 9 people with her, 6 of them being bridesmaids. You have never heard so many catty comments, bitchy attitudes, and bride meltdowns.

Really? You pick out the freaking dress and tell them it is the one they are going to wear. If they don't want to then guess what? You are not going to be in the wedding. It is the bride's day by god. I picked mine out with no input from my sister. She wore it and shut the hell up. But then I picked my wedding dress alone too so.. guess it is just me.

As this TV show is crazy. I will have to watch more of these. :)

What the hell?

I don't get that attitude at all. What's the POINT in trying to get married if you're going to make the entire process a drama ridden journey of angst and mental breakdowns?

I picked my dress out with my mother and grandmothers. It was a quiet and fun time.

Vampirewitch39
Vampirewitch39
18:53 Jul 17 2011

I agree. I was lucky, I knew the dress I wanted. Remember this was 1987 time frame. I wanted a dress, not as fluffy or detailed, but the basic cut of Lady Di dress in ivory. I picked it out and ordered it, with only the input of my Mother on it. I picked a soft rose color dress for my one Maid of Honor, no braids maids, as it is my favorite color and the color of the wedding.

Both dresses, veil was under $600.00. To buy a dress for $7,000.00, 11,000.00 or more is just... I could not do it.

The bridal party can cause more drama than it's worth. In our case the best man is a real princess. Needs to be chauffered and doesn't want to wear a costume for theme wedding. Then say no, I don't want to be the best man. Some one else can be asked that doesn't mind the responsibility of the best man. Hell, he doesn't want to give toast or bachelor party either.

I love these shows. I've watched them since they first started. I got my dress at Macy's. I was with my cousin. It was just a private thing. My maid of honor wore whatever she wanted. I was happy with the whole thing. Some people just don't get that it's the bride's day.

Vampirewitch39
Vampirewitch39
20:31 Jul 17 2011

Ro- See, that is what I don't like. You are asked to stand up for the man/woman. It is a honor, act like it. I was only in one wedding, and I wore the red suite, matching shoes, without a word. I even paid the $300.00 for something I never wore again.

He can rent something, it is a few hours, why complain? Why treat the groom that way? I don't understand folks.

As you know what happened with my wedding- people do not remember that it is about the bride and groom....not even family.

People need to make drama out of everything. Though, if anyone in my party acted the way some people do on that show, I'd probably have to make another appointment to pick out dresses without them.

After much planning and work, my Aunt is home. They had to put off her release for a few days while they set up a hospital bed, equipment at her home. She got home last night, my sister said she called her and she sounded so happy to be home. The cats were still meowing in the background, telling her she was gone way to long these last few months.

Mom told my sister people should have the right to die as they wish, and if that made her little sister happy, then so be it. Sometimes the treatment is not worth the pain it puts you in.

She has talked to her son, wants to be buried in Ohio next to her husband who died years before.

Sad- but since Dad's sudden death it seems normal to face death. The only other person who I loved that passed was my mother's parents, my grandparents. But that was when I was 12? or so- it did not hit me like it is at 45. They just seem nature- old people die.

When my Aunt was killed it was, and still is, more anger. Someone took her from us. And that grief/ rage is something you never want to know.

Now I am facing old age in the face, along with it knowning I will be alone in my last years of life. The only time I ever wished I had a child, and that is not the reason to ever have one.

Ok- lost my trail here for the journal, guess I just wanted to write, get this off my chest.

Sonic- watermellon slushie and rum is called for later tonight. :) Or I can make the hotwings I been wanting and a few cold beers.

Life- enjoy it while you can.

Watching the news about a 4 lane highway (just one side of this 8 lane highway) being closed down on LA so a old bridge that runs above it can be torn down. Mind you- this is only half the bridge, they plan to tear the other half next year.

And I will say I have never been to LA. But when the people in the report say how this is going to effect crime, traffic, jobs, income of thousands for the weekend closing. o.O Friday at midnight till Monday AM.... and it is going to effect you that much?

They talked to people who made runs to stores to get supplies for the weekend as they would be 'unable' to get out.

Wow... hard to keep your butt at home for two days? And they don't have back roads in this area? It is not an inland so... really?

You sure would be up shit creek without a paddle if something serious happened.

Well, the 405 is one of the most used freeways here, so it is a bit bad that they are closing it down for such an extended period of time. However, considering it's the weekend, it won't be effecting as many people as it would if they shut it down during actual work days. I can understand the whole going out and getting groceries and supplies and whatnot, because if you live anywhere near the freeway it's going to be a mad mess of traffic. But, they may be blowing it a bit out of proportion.

Lighting a candle tonight for my Aunt Eva, Mom's younger sister.

After a few months of health issues she is sent home from the hospital with hospice. Her kidney is failing and kidney dialysis is not working. At 72 she is facing a long road.

At the first of the year she was so happy with a new kitten, full of life and fun. She collapse one day after her son took her to the grocery store, and was put into a nursing home for physical therapy. Then it was problems with her sugar, and now we are here.

She is surrounded by her own family but Mom is upset she can't make the long trip to go be with her. It is her little sister and she is unable to be with her.

Award for dumb ass goes too...

It's never acceptable to judge a man by the color of his skin -- but sometimes it's wise to judge a man by the logo on his t-shirt.

Idaho police say a neo-Nazi picked a fight with an African American man and got knocked out with a single punch. Not surprising, considering the man who threw the punch was wearing a shirt from a Spokane, Wa. boxing club.

Daren Abbey, 28, threatened to stab 46-year-old Marlon Baker in a Bayview, Idaho bar on July 3 and told him "blacks are not welcome here," Kootenai County Sheriff's Office sources told NWCN.

Baker and his friend left the bar, with Abbey allegedly following behind shouting racial slurs. Then Abbey made "a motion like he was going to do something," Baker told KREM.

Baker threw a single punch, knocking Abbey to the ground, investigators said.

"[It was] just a straight right hand, that's all it was," said Baker. "It's really good that he stepped into it."

Abbey was treated for a possible broken nose. He is being held on $75,000 bond on charges of battery and malicious harassment.

** From AOL News. Try to live that down at the next meeting ass hole.

Seems the virus I uploaded into my laptop wiped it. As in drives, windows, all of it.

We end up taking it to Office Depot and got that little news, might take it to a local repair shop that is ran by a man who is well known for his computer work. He started a large business called ACS (they do data entry) in town, sold it, got bored, and open his repair shop. Always been a honest man, see if he thinks it is worth trying to fix the old machine. I fear the cost will be more then a low cost new one would be.

Or I can just do without. Might be a good thing to take it out of my bedroom. While I miss it when I can't sleep, it does make me get out of bed early to read the news, check online, start my day instead of laying in bed.

Dinner turned out great last night. I mean..yummy good. Cat seemed to like the country fried steak with grave. :) Fireworks were nice, really close to the action. Then back to my place for brownies, and a movie. I have not uploaded the pictures yet, hope some of them turned out.

Casey Anthony Offered $1 Million for 'Jerry Springer' Appearance.

Ok- I have a problem with this. While I did not watch this horse and pony show unfold in the court room, I did read most of the news on it.

And really- I would of had a hard time putting this woman to death. Yes she is crazy as hell, yes she uses people and tells flat out lies. I also think she is telling a wild tale on what happen, shows not emotions or care that her child was missing. She lead the police on a hunt with her lies instead of finding her child. She either did not care or knew she was dead.

But.... did they prove she herself killed the child? No. Not to me.

I understand the anger about her going free. But what really really pisses me off...

Jury lady on the TV last night, got a reported 6 figure payday for that. And lord knows how much the other jury people will make.

Then we have the family, and the crazy lady herself to bring in money hand over hand. Why? Because people read about them, people watch it. While I will not buy any books, or watch any interviews that was 'paid' for, I will keep up on the news online. I will not help her make money from what she did to the child.

I also read the state, other people are starting to file suite against Anthony for all the cost of hunting for her child, legal fees. I don't see how that would stand, but we will see.

CarnelianMyst
CarnelianMyst
01:15 Jul 09 2011

The judge has already told the other jurors to shut it, so they won't be speaking publicly for the time being.

I'm betting that unless she goes into hiding someplace right quick, Casey stands a good chance of getting an asss-whooping from some crackpot when she gets out of jail. Her little smirking face during the sentencing pissed me right off. And since when do people being tried for murder get hair extensions? She had chin length hair when she got arrested. Now she's got a ponytail down to her ass.

Still, there wasn't enough evidence for a conviction, so she'll be out the door next Wednesday.

meeper
meeper
17:31 Jul 09 2011

I see your point Rat, and I theoretically agree with you. No one should be making money off of a crime they are guilty of.

My extreme disappointment in this case comes from the lynch mob that without a doubt waits for her. Proven not guilty by the courts, and yet millions of people would love to see her hanged. What future does she really have? No one would hire her, her allegations of abuse without a doubt has alienated her from her family, and she lost her child. She needs help (tons of it), and all of society wants to give her is a lecture and a throw away the key. It is a tragedy to lose one individual, we needn't add another person into the mix. Yes I know neglect is implorable, but how outraged do we get at a dad that abandons their kids?

Meanwhile...over 750,000 kids are reported missing every year. What made her special that we all had to weigh in on this case and spend resources like crazy? Why could Anthony get the police to pour those dollars and manpower into her case while others barely get any resources? Shouldn't the state have some culpability to not be puppets of the media and perhaps treat all cases equally?

Vampirewitch39
Vampirewitch39
18:02 Jul 09 2011

If I have not told you of late- I luvs you Meeper.

You bring up a great point. It seems only the media picks who gets help. Is this case special because she was a young, pretty single woman with a missing child? The grandparents who called 911? What did make this case stand out of the thousand of missing kids?

A debate could be made on this point alone. Is it race? appearance? wealth? the way they went missing?

And on the security that is going to be in place for her own safety when she leaves the jail- who do you think is going to pay for that little expense?

It has tinted her life, but then I have read enough to know she should be tinted. I mean... you lied about the nanny... where the hell was the kid those two months? Sorry but she is not white as snow on this.

And the point you made on Dads- I agree with you. Women drown their kids in bathtubs, drive into lakes and rivers to kill them... your point is well made. Takes two to make a child, men should expect and step up to the mat on child raising.

Some are better off without the sperm donor around.

While others.. the men are better then the mothers. I don't think just because you are a female you are better to raise the kid, not by a long shot.

I had the TV running in the background, just letting it keep me company till I notice the puppy. Always a lover of dogs I started to watch the movie called Marley and Me. And at the end I am sitting here crying my eyes out.

It reminds me of our dog called ShePuppy. She came into our life from a rental house that the couple left, leaving this cute collie mix puppy behind. On a snowy day my mother sent my father to go get the dog, curled up on the step of the kitchen door, waiting still to be let in, not understanding the people who were his family had left him. It is sad that I see this often, people leaving cats and dogs as they move away. Still breaks my heart.

She came home with the understanding that she was not to stay as I, with doctor test to back this up, was allergic to dogs. But this dog was smart; she was such a beautiful puppy. Small, those brown eyes, and she was a player. She knew to stand outside during the rain, leaving the dog house my father put in the yard for her, looking all sad till my mother would let her in. “Stupid dog doesn’t even know when to get inside her house.” was her common commentary as I would sit on the floor, drying her off, my Dad trying to get her to come to him on the couch.

My dad was always a dog lover, a patient man from heaven as he dealt with the three cats I had during those “allergic to dogs” years. He could not take the puppy off his chain as it would just start us playing, and I am sure my Mother had threaten him to not be attached to the dog as it was leaving as soon as a good home was found.

Words never ran truer then with that puppy. Time frame was during my dating time before I got married, just out of high school and the only one at home with Mom, Dad and my brother at the time. I would come home, pulling into the drive, and there would be that dog.

On cold nights the light that my brother put into her house to heat it would light her doghouse up like a UFO. It was so strange and to this day brings such a smile to my face. Coming home from a date night- She would demand a pet from me on the way in, so sweet, looking so forlorn and alone. The bad child that I was, I would unchain her most nights and sneak her into the house, where everyone else was asleep. She would lie at the bathroom door as I undress, got ready for bed. On to the foot of the bed, where we would sleep till my Dad would come and push my door in a little, telling me to wake up, work was in an hour.

ShePuppy would jump down, whip herself out of that little crack in the doorway, and go find him. “What is that dog doing in here? How did you get in? You are not to be inside the house.” You could hear the hidden joy in his words as the dog would go into the kitchen with him, the only one willing to be up and awake. The dog had her own spot under the table for years, next to Dad’s chair. I had years of waking up to him opening my door, not to wake me up, but to get the dog to join him. It got to the point that she would hear him come into the living room, and she went out to meet him.

You might wonder about my allergies- I had none. I kept the house cleaned, and my sheets washed two or three times a week per my Mothers rules if the dog stayed inside. It seemed to work.

But my father wasn’t the only one under the puppies spell. She got her name as my mother refused to let us name the dog. When people would comment on how beautiful he was I would say “It’s a she, not a he. She Puppy” She lived with that name all her life.

At work she had twin duties. In the office she sat beside my mother’s office chair, a soft bed added in her later years. She was a great guard dog, making more then a few truck drivers back up as they step to close to my Mom. I also remember her almost biting a work hand that was angry at me, saying a few words in anger, coming toward me in a threatening way. She attacked, and he kicked at her. That ended with the police called, the dog standing between me and him till they arrived.

I remember the times I sat across from my Mother at her desk, eating lunch with her, the puppy sitting behind her in her chair, getting a few bites hand feed to her. Yes- this was the woman who wanted to give the dog away. But I know it was only for me that she was trying to be a hard ass, and ending to be the dogs most beloved person.

I remember Dad taking her in the trucks to the truck stops, repair shops, parts places. She was well known in town, and I had my own trips with her. I went out to the truck stop to fuel up a packing van and left the windows down a little to give her air. She would stare at the door you went in, till you came back out. Seems she, for what ever reason that day, got down into the floor board of the truck as I went to pay the bill for the gas. I looked outside to see a male yanking his arm out of the truck, She Puppy teeth at his wrist. I ran out, yelling at the man. He threaten to call the police as the dog attacked him, and I was more then happy to have that done. My purse was on the floor board, he was reaching for it.

Funny… seems that dog had the police called on her a lot. Lol

I remember the time my parents was going in the mobile home to a local fair, taking the dog and leaving the rest of us. We were not invited. I remember my Father picking her up, lifting her in and out of the trucks as she grew too old to jump. I remember sitting, fully dressed, in the tub pouring beer down her throat as we feared she had drunk antifreeze when we has a leak, and she was not watched like a hawk. I remember asking for her when I got married, to take to my home, and being told no. Seems my parents that day had decided the dog belonged to them, not to me that had to bath, feed, walk, clean up after her all those years as part of keeping ‘that’ dog.

I also remember the day we put her to sleep. For 18 years she was with us, the last few years barely able to walk, ironically she dealt with her kidneys failing due to medicine given to her for her own allergies and skin issues. She also had cancer, removed in a mass from her hip during those years.

Me and my sisters went to the vet with her, my dad refusing to go, instead saying good bye and going to work that day. My Dad never did show emotions much, something I have taken after him it seems. It is only years later that I understood how painful it would have been for him, this is how he was able to handle it. I remember going to get the Tupperware tote that was to be her coffin. I remember the blanket, the toys, the hugs and kisses. I walked in the last, bring in the items, my sisters already there. She lifted her head, looking at me on that cold stainless table, the IV hooked up giving her pain medicine. I remember kissing her as her tail beat the table, knowing she was happy to see me. I said goodbye to my puppy, telling her wait for me in heaven, we would be together again soon. And I remember her chest stop moving, her breath easing then stopping. I remember helping my brother shovel the dirt on her grave.

I also remember telling my father as I stood beside his hospital bed to tell She Puppy and Hannaha, another dog we loved and lost, hello for me when he say them. I can see them- She Puppy in her little glory bossing the big retriever, Dad throwing a tennis ball to them as he sits under a shade tree.

What is it about dogs? They show love, unconditionally, whole hearted. They don’t judge you, yell at you, and expect much from you but food, water, walks, playtime and hugs. They don’t care what you wear, they listen when you talk, put their heads on your lap when you cry. There is not love like that of a dog.

And I never loved or been loved like I had been with She Puppy. She is my Marley and I wanted to put that in words, share her with you. She can never be forgotten, removed from my heart. I have stop crying, the good times of our life together helping. And writing this to honor her, our bond.

Miss and love you little She Pup. Always.

You got me crying with this. LordV and I went to see Marley and Me, when it came out, about a year after Harley died. We sat in the theater crying, because it reminded us so much of Harley. Most people don't understand dogs and how they creep into our lives. All I know is that your Father is probably throwing the ball, that has both Shepuppy and Harley racing for it.

I knew I shouldn't read it. I tried to walk past it, but I went in and read it. I'm crying now. And Meatball just got a treat in She Puppy's honor. My old guy is lying on the grass, gnawing on his chew bone out in the afternoon sun where I can see him through the glass. Thank you for this...and my sweet fella thanks you for his treat.

Thank you all for the comments. See I am not the only one who loved a dog, been loved by one.

Meatball- your mommy loves you as much.

LadyK loves her's as much.

We all do. What is not to love about a dog?

Guess the dragon had to burp. ;)

Found it a few weeks ago. Seems the place had a fire around 2:00 am, putting off a show for the whole town. No one was hurt, thank god.

Yesterday’s job was interesting. We moved some file boxes for an attorney from one town to another. No big deal. Till we got back in town and realized it was going into a building that had been the location of a murder. Murder of an attorney, the same one whose file cases we were moving.

This place has been locked up tight. Big notices of No Trespassing posted. We were meet by another attorney to get the place unlocked, who use to represent the wife of this dead attorney. The one charged with his murder. She said the man took his own life, but the courts arrested her for murder.

Now all this is well known, reported in the news. But what happen yesterday just left me a little stun. Never been in this position before, not because of the death in the location as I have been in them before. Both from a nature death and murders.

So in we go into this office. It has been stripe of furniture- taken to another town and sold. I am standing outside as the men are rolling in dollies of boxes, putting them into one room in this medium size office.

It was how the attorney told us all about the case. A active, open case. He told us what the woman said to the police, how it happened in her words. He told us what the police said, the evidence of the case. Talked of gun residue, blood stains, how the bullet enter, bullet found in the building, just more then should of ever been told to anyone.

At the end he asked if we wanted to ‘see’ the spot, the blood stains, the bullet holes. And... just… I still can’t believe all we were told.

That is what made it such an unusually day. Note to self- if I ever do kill someone, never use this guy to defend me.

Chocolate cake fresh out of the oven... mmmm it smells good in here.

Sisters *twins* birthday is July 3rd. I don't know if the other sis is coming in or not, she lives out of town, but I am sure the cake will not go to waste. ;)

And while the oven is hot, brisket is going in.

:D

The last one my sister liked it, tho Mom and brother would not eat it. Too much spice. So it is going to be lunch for her Friday.
